Winter Solstice Observance

A celebration of the turning point of the year

We will begin at 5pm with a presentation of the Taoist perspective on the energies at play on this shortest day of the year, and the nature of the Winter season. The presentation will be followed by the spare and calming music of the Shakuhachi bamboo flute, setting the mood for a guided meditation on the energies of Winter.

At 6:15 there will be a simple food offering of Chinese Herbal Chicken Soup (vegetarian option available) outside by  the  bonfire .

At 7:00 we will go back inside to relax and take a luxurious Sound Bath (sound healing experience) played out on Tibetan and crystal bowls - a restorative journey for body, mind and spirit.

Deborah Johnsen will provide the sound healing experience, Karl Young will play the Shakuhachi flute, Karl Danskin will present the Taoist perspective and guide the meditation.

Open to everyone
No reservations necessary
Come for all or any part of the observance
